WRNPLC follows federal, provincial, and Waterloo Region’s Public Health Guidelines regarding COVID 19 . These guidelines identify that there are only two reasons an mRNA COVID vaccine can be delayed or deferred:
- A severe allergic reaction (eg. anaphylaxis) to a previous dose of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine or a component of an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine. If you have experienced a reaction, you will be referred to an allergist to confirm and to help identify alternative ways you may receive the vaccine.
- Myocarditis or Pericarditis diagnosed after the first dose of an mRNA vaccine can result in a temporary delay of your second dose
