Please note that a valid OHIP card is required for booking, and appointments are available for those people who do not have a primary care provider (such as a family doctor or nurse practitioner). If you are registered with a primary care provider, please contact their office to request routine cancer screening.
CRITERIA FOR CANCER SCREENING
Cervical Cancer Screening:
- Age 25 to 70
- have ever had sexual contact with another person
- Have a cervix (no past hysterectomy)
- Have not had cervical screening in last 3 years
- do not have symptoms, like different bleeding or discharge (clear or yellow fluid) from the vagina (genital opening)
- Other factors may affect the timing of cervical screening (history of abnormal results or HPV, etc.)
Breast Cancer Screening:
- Age 40 to 74
- Assigned female at birth
- Other factors may affect age for screening such as family history, trans people with 5+ years of hormone therapy
Colon Cancer Screening:
- Age 45 to 74
- No colon cancer screening in last 2 years
- Other factors may affect age for screening such as family history
